Graded Timber Scaffold Boards

We are constantly improving standards and taking a leading role in developing new British Standards, including the new BS 2482:2009. Marley Eternit Timber Scaffold Boards are graded to BS 2482:2009. The Marley Eternit Kitemark Licence Number KM 07800 is stamped onto the end band of each board. The Kitemark is a registered certification mark owned and operated by BSI. It is one of the most recognised symbols of quality and safety and offers true value to consumers, businesses and procurement practices.

Whilst Grade A scaffold boards used to account for a significant share of the UK scaffold board market, this is going to change. The industry has always asked for ‘BS’ tube and ‘BS’ fittings but often settled on a non BS or Grade ‘A’ scaffold board.

With grading processes differing from company to company, standards vary. The HSE recognised this and, in conjunction with the industry, commissioned an extensive research project. The result is BS 2482:2009. Marley Eternit has always used the machine settings and visual rules planned for BS 2482:2009 for its Alpha+(TM) grade. BS 2482:2009 was published in July and takes immediate effect.
