Responsible Sourcing - Our adoption of the BES 6001 framework

Adoption of the BES 6001 Framework Standard for Responsible Sourcing enables us to take a more responsible and sustainable approach to the sourcing of the materials that go into making our products. Demonstrating our continued commitment to sustainable building, all of our roofing products have all achieved a ‘Very Good’ rating and can therefore contribute three extra credits under the BREEAM family of environmental assessment schemes.

What is BES 6001?

The BRE standard BES 6001 has been published to ensure construction product manufacturers prove that their products have been made with constituent materials that have been responsibly sourced.

How does that apply to me?

Projects using our products can now achieve the highest number of credits under the materials section of the BREEAM environmental assessment. The maximum 6 credits can be gained by specifying our products that achieve an A+ in the BRE Green Guide and also hold a 'Very Good' Responsible Sourcing rating. These ratings are also likely to feature heavily and provide additional benefit under the forthcoming Home Quality Mark (HQM), which is being developed by the BRE.
