All of our manufacturing sites work to OHSAS 18001, the internationally recognised assessment specification for occupation health & safety management.
We recognise that one of our prime responsibilities is to ensure that the Company operates its activities in a safe manner. All of our manufacturing sites work to OHSAS 18001, the internationally recognised assessment specification for occupation health & safety management which is independently audited by CPC and the company’s insurers.
The following areas are addressed by OHSAS 18001:
• Planning for hazard identification, risk assessment & risk control
• OHSAS management programme
• Structure and responsibility
• Training, awareness & competence
• Consultation and communication
• Operational control
• Emergency preparedness & response
• Performance measuring, monitoring and improvement
Our strict Health & Safety policy operates across all functions of the business including; manufacturing, materials handling, administration, engineering, external sales and interaction with customers or contractors either at our sites or on their premises. We also have dedicated Health & Safety management team with all sites having Health & Safety Officers who hold, as a minimum, NEBOSH ‘National General Certificates in Occupational Health’. All managers have also attended the IOSH ‘Managing Safely’ courses.

Construction Skills Certification
All our external sales employees have attained the CSCS ‘Regular Visitor’ card as part of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme which is required when visiting construction sites. We have a ‘Zero Accident’ approach towards safety and continue to implement numerous health & safety initiatives to increase the safety awareness of the work force. Every visitor, contractor and sub-contractor to our sites or offices is briefed on the company’s health & safety policy and undergoes a site induction and Permit to Work (where applicable).
We also provides guidance and support in the safe use of our products through on-site training and the provision of COSHH Safety Data Sheets.
