New Lincoln Clay Pantile launched
Break through innovation has combined with a traditional aesthetic to meet the needs of UK contractors seeking an easy-to-fix clay tile, with the launch of the new Lincoln clay pantile from Marley Eternit.
Lincoln has also been extensively tested for wind driven rain and can be used to a market leading minimum roof pitch of just 17.5 degrees, making it suitable for a wide range of projects such as; new house building, commercial projects, refurbishments and extension work.
The tile was developed following extensive research by Marley Eternit. It showed many contractors want to save time and overcome skills shortages on site, while ensuring the provision of high quality roofs that are both capable of withstanding extreme weather and retaining a traditional appearance.
To meet the latest fixing requirements of BS 5534 and the NHBC technical standards, Lincoln is available with a comprehensive range of accessories and fittings and, to speed-up installation further, it can be installed with Marley Eternit’s one-piece tile clip, SoloFix, which can save up to 30% roof clipping time compared to traditional clip fixings.
Sarah Jackson, marketing product manager at Marley Eternit, comments: “This is a really exciting launch for Marley Eternit. Our product development is focused on meeting current and future needs of UK contractors and specifiers. To address the market issues raised in our research, we have invested significant time and technical expertise into developing Lincoln - a truly first-of-its-kind clay pantile. It balances design with ease and speed of installation to deliver a versatile option for contractors wanting to complement the local vernacular with traditional looks and overcome labour and time challenges on site.
“The classic curves of the Lincoln pantile ensure it offers the rustic beauty expected from a clay tile, but its modern fix and low pitch capability mean it can be installed to meet the latest standards quickly and easily. This will ultimately help to reduce costs.”
Available in Natural Red and Rustic Red, with a comprehensive range of fittings, the Lincoln is an easy to fix traditional clay pantile with approximately 15 tiles per m2.
