Cedral Click

Marley Eternit’s Cedral Click has helped create a stunning property in Fishguard, which sits on the banks of the River Gwaun in Wales.

The new property, in the coastal town in Pembrokeshire, is approximately 380m2 and has been built overlooking the harbour of lower Fishguard with stunning views that span across the Irish Sea. The property is a modern two-storey house, which has been clad in Cedral Click to produce a contemporary finish to the coastal home.

The property was constructed with a timber frame, supplied by Scandia Hus Architects, and Blue Stone Builders specified Cedral Click due to its ease of installation.

Ken Pearson, Project Coordinator at Blue Stone Builders, said: “I have seen other projects that have used Cedral Click and I was really impressed with the finished result. We were contemplating different types of cladding including using half block work, but once the client saw Cedral they wanted to use it across the whole property.

“Cedral Click was an ideal solution to clad the timber frame and, in my personal opinion, is one of the best products to use on this type of frame.”

Location was a key factor in the design and build inspiration for the home and, once the plot of land was purchased, Blue Stone Builders worked with the client to determine the best position of the property to get the best views overlooking the river.

Ken added: “With the property being in a coastal location it was really important that we used a product that could stand up against the elements. Cedral is ideal because it is rot resistant and requires little maintenance.

“We had a great experience with Marley Eternit. Their expertise played a crucial role in helping us through the decision making process while we were choosing the best way to clad the front of the property.”

Cedral Click was fitted in a horizontal style in grey, and slate grey trims were used to match the window frames. The finished result was an extremely modern, clean and sharp looking property that complemented its seaside location.

Sue Russill, homeowner of the property, added: “We’re delighted with the finished result. Cedral Click looks brilliant, the colour is great and it really blends into the landscape of the seaside location, creating the natural finish we were hoping for.”

Cedral Click is a fibre cement weatherboard cladding material that offers installers the flexibility to implement a unique design with a life expectancy of at least 50 years, making it an attractive and durable alternative to other cladding materials.
