About the Quality & Environment Department

Based at our manufacturing sites at Burton upon Trent, Beenham, Glasgow, Keele and Meldreth, our team includes a Q&E Manager, Company Advisor, Concrete Manager, Q&E Officers and QA Technicians.

Our aim is to maintain a clear understanding of our customers’ needs and to exceed them. We achieve this by continually innovating ways of manufacturing our products and providing an even better service by regularly analysing our activities. We are also responsible for achieving conformance to the company’s declared specifications and compliance to applicable legislation.

We work to achieve improvement through regular communication with other departments, management support and teamwork. It is an approach that has reaped real results: we have identified areas of improvement for products, services, and the working environment.

Mechanical Shift Engineer

Closing Date: 26.05.2017

Reporting to the Mechanical Team Leader, This position has responsibility for maintaining site mechanical services, equipment and machinery.Main duties will be to provide breakdown fault diagnosis and repair as well as to carry out routine plant maintenance on a shift based system across the site

The successful applicant will hold the appropriate qualifications for the role and have experience in the following areas:

  • Fault Finding and repairs on mechanical plant.
  • Fabrication / Welding / Machining / Fitting experience.
  • PPM systems

Applicants should be enthusiastic and highly self motivated with a flexible approach to their work.This will be combined with the ability to work efficiently on your own initiative, and work as part of a team.You will have a solid understanding of engineering principles and a desire to progress within the manufacturing sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEASUREMENT CRITERIA

  • Supporting the maintaining of equipment, machinery and associated services in a safe and good order.
  • Installation and maintenance of mechanical services in accordance with current regulations
  • Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance and provide input into improving the system
  • Provide mechanical support in the event of breakdowns
  • Work and liaise with a range of internal departments and external suppliers
  • Confirm work done into Maintenance Management System (SAP) complete with technical feedback
  • Where necessary provide input into feasibility studies, Capex and continuous improvement projects
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, environment and quality management systems
  • Prioritise workload
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development
  • Liaise with stores to identify relevant and correct stock items.
  • Work within 5s methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Relevant qualifications for role.Previous experience in a similar role.Good working knowledge of planned maintenance systems.Must possess a good level of computer literacy, and have excellent communication skills.

Enquiry Support CoOrdinator Facades Lead Development

JOB PROFILE: To qualify, develop and prioritise enquiries ensuring valuable sales opportunities are passed to the external sales team within a specified timeframe.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-qualify and develop leads for the sales teams from marketing activities including online advertising, direct mail and exhibitions, within an agreed timeframe.Have the ability to communicate with a varied group of lead providers.

Use research tools where relevant, to increase knowledge / awareness of lead provider and project details (if available) before making contact

Update the in-house CRM system with information once the lead has been contacted / qualified

Work closely with the sales team to track / follow up the pre-qualified leads and to maintain current project status.Ability to manage and track lead generation / development and a sales pipeline through the CRM system.

To work in conjunction with the external and internal sales teams to provide an efficient, informed and courteous service to our customers / lead providers.To make and answer calls in a professional and pleasant manner.Support the Inbound Enquiry Team to action and process sample and marketing enquiries accurately when required.

Maintain focus on gold standards of safety at all times, constantly vigilant and pro-active in respect of recognising and reporting hazards, ensuring high levels of awareness, and taking a continuous improvement approach to the working environment and Safety behaviours in respect of self, colleagues and any other third parties/visitors

Continuously seek to add value, improve efficiency and reduce wastage by adopting lean principles wherever appropriate.

To carry out other tasks as deemed necessary and that are considered to be within the job holder's capability.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Ideally educated to degree level, the job holder will be proficient with the Microsoft Office packages and have experience of working with contact databases (CRM systems).The job holder will have at least 12 months internal / external sales experience / account management, and be experienced in calling at director level to qualify leads. The job holder will have exceptional customer service skills in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills and listening skills.They will be highly organised and self motivated with the ability to prioritise tasks and the ability to work efficiently and accurately with a clear focus on quality.

They will possess a professional phone manner with a consultative approach and tone of voice, as well as a positive can-do attitude that strives to continuously improve.The job holder is able to work as part of a wide and varied team within a busy environment. High level of awareness, and pro active-approach towards safety with a sound track record of achieving high standards of safety at all times for self, team members, all colleagues and third parties as appropriate.
