Mobile Plant Engineer

Job Profile

We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Plant Engineer to carry out service, repairs & maintenance to the mobile plant at the Burton Manufacturing site.

Nature & Scope

The mobile plant engineer is responsible for the service and maintenance of site mobile plant including fork lift trucks, work savers, tractors, trailers, loading shovels and MEWPS.All equipment should be serviced and maintained to the required standards at minimum cost.

The Mobile plant engineer reports to the Engineering Manager.The job holder will be part of the site maintenance team, but is expected to work with a high degree of autonomy.The job holder will be expected to develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal customers, site teams and external resources.

Main Activities

To pro actively support the site leadership team leader to ensure a safe, clean and productive site.

To adhere to all EHS standards.To ensure the mobile plant workshop is maintained to comply with all EHS and 5s standards, procedures and processes.

To conduct safety tours across the Burton Manufacturing site.

To prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for mobile plant maintenance processes.

To collate and monitor mobile plant usage data, and schedule maintenance services.

To carry out service, repairs & maintenance to mobile plant.

To ensure all plant and machinery is maintained to legislative standards.

To ensure cost effective solutions are used to maintain the mobile plant fleet.

To arrange visits and control contractors during mobile plant maintenance activities.

To use diagnostic tools to assist fault finding and resolution of mobile plant issues.

To use ERP software to allocate and monitor mobile plant equipment costs.

To promote good employee relationships.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Multi skilled time served mobile plant maintenance fitter, with a minimum of 3 years post apprenticeship experience.Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to carry out plant fault finding using diagnostic tools.Ability to analyse data presented, both written and graphically.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word & Excel)

Preferred

IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.Experience of SAP Plant Maintenance Module

Production Operative

Job Profile

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative at our site in Burton. Working as part of the production team, the operative will operate the production machinery and will also be responsible for producing hand made and machine made accessories to complement the full range of main roof products.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring optimum efficiency of equipment and productivity to meet and sustain required production volumes within agreed budget levels.

Ensuring the companies health & safety standards are compiled with and developed, including briefings, safety audits, MOB’s toolbox talks etc.

Ensuring the companies quality standards are driven forward.

Achieve safe working in a high volume, high speed manufacturing environment.

Machine operation and fault diagnosis.

Contribute to the successful implementation of Kaizan (continuous improvements) projects maximising improvement opportunities.

Support a successful 6s programme within all areas of responsibility.

Liaise with the maintenance department to optimise plant performance.

Posses the ability of working in other departments as and when required.

To carry out other tasks as deemed necessary, that are within the job holders capability.

Developing a system that will deliver continuous improvement in all areas.Initially special attention will be

paid to cleanliness and safety.Safe working in a high volume, high speed manufacturing environment.

Liaison with maintenance staff to optimize plant performance.

The ideal candidate should be able to work on their own initiative and with minimum supervision.They must also be able to manufacture products to specific quality and quantity standards.Flexible working is a key attribute, to meet challenging production targets.The ability to work within a ream is essential, along with an enthusiastic attitude.
