There are exciting developments going on at our long established and thriving Beenham site, which is based less than ten miles from the vibrant city of Reading.

The site has been constantly developing to meet the needs of the growing market not only in product innovations but the physical infrastructure and technology to stay at the forefront of manufacturing practices. Our current improvement programme includes a highly structured implementation of 5S, advanced problem solving techniques and an overarching Kaizen approach to our operations.

More than 80 people work at Beenham and the success of the site is down to the excellent work of the team in often very demanding environments, supported by our small but strong leadership team.

  • We have five different manufacturing lines covering most of the Marley Eternit concrete roof tiles, fittings and accessories.
  • Our operation is made up of many different departments: production, mechanical, electrical, logistics, quality, EHS, mobile fleet and a dedicated continuous improvement manager. We draw from many different industries and employ team members with qualifications from A levels to PhDs.

Job Profile

This is a key senior role in the business, responsible for planning, leading and developing all activities essential to the effective operation of the IEUK Shared Services Centre.

Key Responsibilities

Under the umbrella of the Country Service Level Agreements liaise with the following external groups on behalf of the Country organisations:-

External customers and suppliers

Banks through the payment and collection processes

Auditors through the year end accounting processes

Project Phase

Implement changes in services and the service portfolio

Negotiate Service Level agreements

Work within timeframes and budgetary limitations

Service Operating Phase

Develop and Implement strategic and operating plans

Develop and propose realistic annual budget plans

Ensure compliance with company standards, ETEX financial procedures and ensure implementation of quality systems

Assume overall responsibility for recruiting, leading, managing, developing, influencing, retaining and plan the career of the SSC staff

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Knowledge

Accounting / Finance Degree

7 years + experience as a Finance Manager

Experience of managing Finance, Business and IT related issues in a senior project management or project sponsor role

Networker who has the ability to align parties and optimise contacts within the ETEX environment

Technical Manager - Cladding

This role is responsible for managing, motivating and developing the Technical Advisory Services for cladding.The position requires the day to day management to ensure that customer’s technical needs are met dealing with phone enquiries and through the provision of on line technical information and services

Key responsibilities include:

  • Management of a team who are responsible for the provision of technical information to customers and external sales, which supports the specification and purchase of Marley Eternit’scladding materials

  • Ensure that customer enquiries are dealt with in accordance with the performance targets and service standards and monitor and report progress and performance

  • Maintain and develop knowledge across the team to ensure information relating to products, procedures, guidance and legislation are up to date to effectively handle customer enquiries

  • Able to lead, motivate and develop the team, give clear direction and feedback in order to improve performance.Deliver the highest standards of technical service to customers, in line with our strategy to deliver world class customer service

  • Development of technical strategies in line with the Company’s key strategic objectives

  • Help drive a culture of continuous improvement and improve the overall service delivery through quality and consistency.Ensure that the services provided are accurate and well presented, both written and verbally, including the provision of specifications along with standard and bespoke technical drawings

  • To maintain a high level of skill in the operation of the Technical & CRM software and applications.

  • Updating marketing and helping produce accurate technical guides.

  • Maintain focus on gold standards of safety at all times, constantly vigilant and pro-active in respect of recognizing and reporting hazards, ensuring high levels of awareness, and taking a continuous improvement approach to the working environment and safety behaviors in respect of self, colleagues and any other third parties/visitors

  • Always seek to add value, applying lean principles, wherever applicable.Assist withcladding complaints.

  • Any other duties that are considered to be within the capability of the job holder that may be required from time to time

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • A degree in a construction related discipline or the equivalent relevant experience

  • Team management experience required

  • Strong analytical skill, excellent written and verbal communication.Track record of delivering results

  • Ability to build relationships, present and communicate at all levels in the business

  • Motivate, develop, coach, train, induct and formally appraise employees to setperformance standards, recognise achievement and deal with performance issues.Strong team building skills and be self motivated with the ability to prioritise their team and personal workload in order to achieve the effective results

  • Pro-active approach towards safety with a sound track record of achieving high standards of safety at all times for self, team members, all colleagues and third parties as appropriate
