Ridge Ventilation Terminal

Ridge Ventilation Terminals provide a weatherproof multi-purpose ridge terminal. Completely weatherproof, this terminal offers an alternative method of ridge ventilation to the Ventilated Dry Ridge System and may be connected to a mechanical extract system or Passive Stack Ventilation.

Authority
Correct use of Marley Ridge Ventilation Terminals will meet the requirements of The Building Regulations 1991 as amended, Approved Document F2, The Building Standards (Scotland) Regulations 1990 - 1994 Part G, where appropriate and BS 5250. Agrément Certificate No 89/2223 applies to the use of this terminal for roof ventilation and mechanical extract systems.

Composition
Injection moulded dark grey PVC-u ventilation cowl and riser, sealed and bolted to Segmental profile concrete ridge tile. Injection moulded dark grey PVC-u Adaptor with Polypropylene Flexible Pipe (in Plumbers Accessory Pack).

Performance
The Marley Ridge Ventilation Terminal provides for the ventilation of the roof apex, and when connected via the Adaptor and Flexible Pipe, is also suitable for use with mechanical extract systems, or Passive Stack ventilation. The Ridge Ventilation Terminal provides 9,500mm² free area ventilation and has been tested by BSRIA to determine pressure resistance (Pa) values as detailed in the table below.

Compatibility
Suitable for all roofs of 15° - 60°, Marley Ridge Ventilation Terminals may be either mortar bedded or installed with the Marley Ventilated Dry Ridge System. Ridge Ventilation Terminals are compatible with the range of Marley Ventilation products and can be used to supplement either 10mm or 25mm Eaves Ventilation Systems. Connection to mechanical or passive ventilation systems can accommodate 82mm - 110mm diameter ductwork. The terminal is not suitable as an exhaust for hot gases.

Installation
Ridge Ventilation Terminals should be installed in a horizontal position, clear of any obstructions likely to hinder the airflow of exhaust fumes and 600mm away from any Gas Ventilation Ridge Terminal or other flue outlet. If a ridge board is used in the roof construction, it should be cut and trimmed for a length of 400mm, with the roof underlay cut and formed to fit neatly to the sides of the riser. When used with the Ventilated Dry Ridge System, a piece of the back of the Batten Section may require removal to facilitate the PVC-u riser. Blocked Filler Units are required for a distance of 600mm either side of the terminal, if connected to a mechanical extract system. A special Adaptor Ridge Union is available to suit Modern ridge tile applications.
