Gas Ventilation Ridge Terminal

The effective answer to gas flue termination at the ridge.

The Gas Ventilation Ridge Terminal is designed solely as a ridge terminal for gas flues connected to gas appliances of rated input not exceeding 60Kw. The Gas Ventilation Ridge Terminal may either be bedded or used with the Dry Ridge System. Suitable for most duo-pitch roofs up to 60° pitch.

Gas Ventilation Ridge Terminals should be fitted in accordance with the requirements of The Building Regulations, Approved Document J, The Building Standards (Scotland) Regulations 1990 - 1994 Part F and comply with BS 5440 : Part 1. Tested and Approved by Advantica Technologies Ltd.

Composition
Concrete composite ridge tile base and hood, with stainless steel grille and bolts and aluminium throat extension box. Gasket set with locking washers available.

Performance
The Marley Gas Ventilation Ridge Terminal provides for the termination of gas appliances of rated input up to 60Kw, when connected via an 'R' Type Adaptor (not supplied), to a fully supported duct not exceeding 150mm diameter.

Compatibility
Suitable for all roofs of 15° - 60°, Marley Gas Ventilation Ridge Terminals may be either mortar bedded or installed with the Marley Ventilated Dry Ridge System. Gas Ventilation Ridge Terminals are compatible with the range of Marley Ventilation products and can only be used to terminate gas appliances of rated input up to 60Kw. Connection via the “R” type adaptor (not supplied) can accommodate up to 150mm diameter ductwork.

Designers and installers should check with the boiler/gas appliance manufacturer to establish suitability for use in the circumstances proposed. The terminal is not suitable for coal, wood or oil fired appliances, or for roof void, mechanical or passive ventilation systems.

Installation
If a ridge board is used in the roof construction, it should be cut and trimmed for a length of 400mm,with the roof underlay cut, and top batten positioned, a minimum of 25mm from the throat extension.

When used with the ventilated dry ridge system, a piece of the back of the batten section may require removal to facilitate the PVC-U riser. Blocked filler units are required for a distance of 600mm either side of the Terminal. A special adaptor ridge union is available to suit Modern ridge tile applications.
