Tom Perry wanted to retile the roof of his three bedroom bungalow in The Wirral. Having worked in the industry for over 50 years, Tom knew what he was looking for and approached his son, Tom Perry Junior, who runs the family roofing business, to help him coordinate the re-roof.
The Perrys wanted a replacement clay tile that would give their roof an attractive finish, as well as maintaining the original character of their home. After looking through numerous product catalogues, they selected a tile from Marley Eternit which provided the perfect look – the Sandringham clay interlocking tile, in Burnished Red.
Tom Perry comments:
“My parents were keen on the Sandringham tile for the roof of their home as it provided the appearance and style that they were looking for. As a family working in the roofing industry, we have a lot of experience with various tile and slate manufacturers. Marley Eternit is a manufacturer who we know we can trust to provide high quality products and accurate and helpful advice”.
Approximately 2,600 Sandringham clay interlocking tiles in Burnished Red were selected for the project. In addition to Burnished Red, the tile is also available in Terracotta Red, with both colours providing the beauty and durability, traditionally associated with clay.
Tom Perry is extremely happy with the finished look on his roof:
“I worked in the roofing industry for many years and started the family business, Tom Perry Roofing Specialists, in 1952. Transportation is usually a big issue for tile manufacturers. In my experience many tiles often get damaged or broken en route to the job but the Marley Eternit tiles arrived in excellent condition”.
“I am happy to say that I have never seen a clay interlocking tile as good as the Sandringham and both myself and my wife are thrilled with the end result, which now enhances the appearance of my home”.
