Marley Eternit Makes A Vintage Choice For Nottinghamshire School

The Robin Hood Infants School required 32,000 tiles to refurbish the original roof of the reception, staff and class rooms, which dated back over 100 years.

Roofing contractors Midland Roofing Services (Derby) were responsible for specifying the tiles, which required careful selection in order to remain sympathetic to the surrounding school buildings. They recommended the Vintage Brown tile, to the local planners and school, who quickly approved the tile due to its traditional appearance.

Jason Crich, contracts manager at Midland Roofing Services (Derby), comments:
“I have a long standing relationship with Marley Eternit, having worked with them on a number of projects in the past and was really pleased when they came to me with the new Vintage Brown colour.

“We had to be particularly careful to ensure that we maintained a similar appearance to the original roofs, however since the success of this refurbishment we are hoping to complete further roofing refurbishment at the school.”

Diana Bullock, campaign manager at Marley Eternit, continues:
“Vintage Brown was developed to help broaden our well established clay plain tiles range and is already proving very popular with contractors and local authorities alike due to its traditional appearance.

“Vintage Brown is one of seven colours in the Acme single camber range, which is part of an extensive choice of clay plain tiles offered by Marley Eternit. With 24 colours to choose from and excellent environmental credentials, our clay plain tiles are an ideal choice for both new and refurbishment projects such as the Robin Hood Infants School.”
