New Colour For Hawkins Clay Plain Tile

The colour has been developed to broaden the well-established Hawkins range. This heritage, combined with the most modern firing techniques gives a unique colour range, which is now available in four colours, Staffordshire Blue, Staffordshire Mixture, Dark Heather and the new Blue Smooth.

Marley Eternit, known for its environmental innovations, achieves an ‘A’ rating for its clay plain roof tiles in the BRE’s ‘Green Guide to Specification,’ enabling specifiers to obtain environmental credits for buildings under the BREEAM and Eco Homes schemes.

With the materials authentic appearance, the Blue Smooth Hawkins clay plain tile is another great addition to Marley Eternit’s broad range of clay tiles. The company has made clay a more affordable option with a huge investment of £19 million at its state-of-the-art clay plain tiles facility in Keele, Staffordshire. Adapting manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, Marley Eternit is changing perceptions that clay tiles are unsustainable and expensive.

Sarah Hanlon, marketing manager at Marley Eternit, said: “This new colour gives specifiers the opportunity to create a quality finish, which is continually underlined by PPS3.

“Aesthetics and environmental considerations are more important than ever, so we expect the combination of these elements in the Blue Smooth to provide a huge draw to specifiers.”

There is a wide range of fittings and accessories available to complement the Hawkins range.
