At Marley Eternit we are constantly striving to reduce energy usage within our organisation and throughout our manufacturing processes. We take the threat of Climate Change very seriously and whilst recognising that energy is vital in the manufacture of our products, we are taking action to reduce the impact on the environment of our business activities. Committing to reducing carbon emissions from our processes also makes good business sense in times of reducing fossil fuel resources and ever increasing oil, gas and electricity prices.
We have been working in partnership with the Carbon Trust since the latter part of 2006 to help us successfully reduce our Carbon Footprint and to develop a sustainable Carbon Management Programme for the Company that will enable us to achieve carbon emission reduction.
As a result the company are developing a Carbon Policy and Strategy to eliminate energy waste, increase the amount of recycled materials used in our products, invest in appropriate energy efficient equipment and processes, work with our suppliers to reduce the carbon emissions associated with the inputs to our manufacturing process and consider the use of renewable energy when appropriate.
